The heat

What hot Pilates feels like at Sora.

Sora's studio is warmed with infrared heaters, which warm you and the room's surfaces directly instead of only heating the air. The warmth helps your body settle in, while the work stays classic Pilates: controlled, core-led movement you can feel in every muscle. Three of Sora's four class types are Pilates-based.

Foundations · Measured

Observe

Classical Pilates foundations with yoga-influenced movement. Alignment, core control and technique, so you understand every movement. All levels.

Sculpt · Flowing

Recenter

Contemporary Pilates sculpt with studio props: deep core work, controlled pulses and full-body sculpting. All levels, with progressions.

Conditioning · High energy

Activate

Sora's highest-intensity class: Pilates-inspired strength sequences with HIIT-style intervals. Challenging, with modifications offered.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How hot is hot Pilates at Sora?

Hot classes reach up to 40°C on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mild classes stay up to 30°C on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Instructors can adjust the heat during class.

Is hot Pilates good for beginners?

Yes. Every class is designed for all levels, with progressions and modifications. If you're new to heat, start with a Mild class or Observe, which focuses on foundations and technique.

What's the difference between Observe, Recenter and Activate?

Observe teaches Pilates foundations and alignment at a measured pace. Recenter is a flowing Pilates sculpt with props. Activate is the most intense, adding HIIT-style cardio intervals to Pilates strength work.

Do you have reformers?

No. Sora is a mat Pilates studio: classes use mats and small studio props in an infrared-heated room.

What should I bring?

A mat towel, a refillable water bottle and grip socks. Mats are provided, and towel rentals are available at the studio if you forget yours.

When should I arrive for my first class?

Arrive 10–15 minutes early on your first visit. Doors open 10 minutes before class, and for everyone's safety entry closes 2 minutes after class starts.

Is there parking?

Yes. On-site parking is available at 63 Queen Street South, with more street parking along Queen Street and nearby side streets in Streetsville.

Can I take a heated class if I'm pregnant, injured or have a health condition?

Check with your doctor before taking a heated class, and let your instructor know before class starts so they can suggest modifications. Mild classes (up to 30°C) are a gentler option.
