Women-only Wednesdays: heated Pilates and yoga, in a space made for you.

For some people, the difference between trying a class and staying home is who else will be in the room. That is why we hold women-only classes every Wednesday at Sora in Streetsville. Here is what those classes look like, who they are for, and what to look for if you are searching for a women-only Pilates or yoga class anywhere in Mississauga.
What women-only Wednesdays are
Every Wednesday, our classes are women-only. They are marked Women on the schedule, they book like any other class, and they use the same credits and memberships. There is no separate pass to buy and no extra step at check-in.
During women-only classes, the room is staffed by women only. That includes the instructor leading class and the team members you meet at the front. We made that choice deliberately, because a women-only class only feels private if everyone in the space is part of it.
Wednesday is also one of our Mild days, when the studio is heated up to 30°C. That gentler warmth makes Wednesday a comfortable starting point if you are new to heated classes.
Hijabi-friendly by design
Our women-only classes are hijabi-friendly. You are welcome to practise in a hijab or other head covering, and in whatever level of coverage feels right for you. Because the room is staffed by women only, you can settle into class without having to think about who might walk in.
If you have a question about the space or anything else that would help you feel comfortable, contact the studio before your visit. We would rather answer it ahead of time than have you wonder about it on the way in.
Modest activewear in a warm room
Covering up in a heated class is completely doable. It just helps to choose fabrics with care. Look for lightweight, moisture-wicking materials that dry quickly. Long sleeves, full-length leggings, and looser tunic-style tops all work well on the mat, as long as they let you move freely and do not bunch up when you roll onto your back or come into a plank.
For head coverings, many people prefer a sport or jersey hijab in a breathable fabric, secured so it stays put when you look down or lie flat. Bring a spare if you tend to sweat a lot. A mat towel, a refillable water bottle, and grip socks round out the list. Grip socks are recommended for stability, and towel rentals are available if you forget yours.
On a Mild Wednesday, you may find long layers comfortable throughout class. Whatever you wear, take breaks whenever you need them and drink water. Your comfort matters more than finishing every set.
Which class to choose
Women-only Wednesdays draw on the same four class types as the rest of our week. Stretch is slow, restorative, yoga-inspired mobility. Observe focuses on classical Pilates foundations, alignment, and core control. Recenter is a contemporary Pilates sculpt class with props. Activate is our most intense format, pairing Pilates strength with HIIT-style intervals, with modifications offered.
If you are new, Observe or Stretch is a gentle place to begin. You can read more about each format at /classes, and the women-only class page at /classes/women-only has the details in one place.
What to look for in any women-only class
If you are comparing options around Mississauga, a few questions can help. Is the class genuinely women-only, or only women-led? Are the staff and anyone else entering the room women as well? Is it on a regular schedule, so you can build a routine around it rather than waiting for an occasional event?
It also helps to ask practical questions. Does the class use your regular credits or membership? Is there a calm space to get ready? Are instructors comfortable offering modifications, including for injuries, pregnancy, or postpartum recovery? A good women-only class should feel like a normal part of the studio, not an afterthought.
Come as you are
You do not need to have done Pilates or yoga before, and you do not need to love heat yet. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for your first class, tell your instructor it is your first visit, and mention any injuries or health considerations so she can suggest adjustments.
We are at 63 Queen Street South, Unit 8, in Streetsville. Look for classes marked Women on Wednesdays at /book, and check /pricing/credit for current intro offers.
