Your first heated class at Sora: a little less wondering, a little more ease.

Trying a new studio can come with a surprisingly long list of small questions. What do I bring? Will I know what to do? What if I need a break? Your first class at Sora is a chance to get familiar with the space and your practice. You do not need to have everything figured out before you walk in.
Choose a class that meets you where you are
Read the class descriptions before booking, rather than choosing only by the time slot. If you want to begin with Pilates foundations, Observe focuses on form, alignment, and controlled movement. If you are unsure which format suits you, contact the studio and tell us what you are looking for.
Experience in an unheated class does not necessarily tell you how heat will feel. Let your first visit be a chance to learn that too.
Pack the simple things
Bring a mat towel and a refillable water bottle. Grip socks are recommended, and towel rentals are available at the studio. Wear clothes you can move comfortably in and expect to sweat. Check our FAQs for current studio details before your visit.
Drink water through the day rather than trying to catch up just before class. Give yourself time to arrive without rushing, especially if you are travelling through Streetsville for the first time.
Arrive early and say hello
Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before your first class; studio doors open 10 minutes before class begins. We are at 63 Queen Street South, Unit 8. On-site parking is available, with additional street parking along Queen Street and nearby side streets.
Tell your instructor it is your first visit. Mention any relevant injuries or movement needs so you can discuss adjustments before class starts. A quick conversation can make stepping onto your mat feel much easier.
During class, your body leads
Follow the cues, keep your movements comfortable, and take breaks whenever you need them. You do not have to match the person next to you. Classes may reach 40°C, so settling into the heat can be part of the learning curve.
If you feel dizzy, nauseated, or unwell, stop, let the instructor know, and move to a cooler area. Heated exercise may not be suitable for everyone; speak with your healthcare provider first if you are pregnant or have a health concern that affects heat tolerance.
Leave room for a second visit
After class, take time to cool down and drink water. Notice what you enjoyed: the pace, the movement, the guidance, or simply having time for yourself. Your first class gives you information. It does not need to be a performance.
As the space and the cues become familiar, you can spend less time wondering what comes next and more time connecting with your own practice.
